Test your child for lead
If you think your child might be at risk for lead exposure, ask your child's doctor for a blood lead test. See Informational Card below for more information.

A blood test for lead is free when your child gets a Well Child Check-up if you have Medi-Cal or if you are in the Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP). Health insurance plans will also pay for this test.
If your child needs health insurance or a doctor, call Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) at 1(800) 689-6669, or go to Santa Clara County CHDP website.
Also, Community Health Partnership has set up a phone number to assist families with questions regarding healthcare coverage (MediCal, MediCare, etc.) and access to primary care clinics. The number is (408)-579-6028.
